Born into a family of Italianimmigrants, Baggio’s interest in Violin Making was strongly influenced by hisgrandfather, Angelo Caliri,  a luthier whoimmigrated to Brazil after World War II, bringing with him the craft of instrumentmaking.
Baggio graduated from the School ofViolin Making at the Conservatório Dramático e Musical Dr. Carlos de Campos inTatuí, São Paulo. After completing his studies in 2006, he settled in the cityof Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, where he began his professional career as a makerand restorer of string instruments.

Practical course in bow making (“Archeterie”), under the guidance of bow makers João Carlos Rossoni Ramos and Renato Casara.
Course in restoration, varnish retouching, and conservation of string instruments of the violin family, under the guidance of award-winning luthier Ian Bartós (Poland/France).
Alessandro Baggio travels frequently to attend international instrument making fairs, such as Mondomusica in Cremona, Italy, and Musikmesse in Frankfurt, Germany.
